Payment At Metroplex Midwifery, we believe that everybody deserves quality healthcare. We believe that healthcare is especially crucial in the prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum period. We will work with you to make your birthing dreams reality. We believe in making out of hospital birth accessible to anyone who wants it. See below! In order to care for clients of all income levels, we operate on a sliding scale of $4500–$8000. Payment plans are available. Discounts for late to care or other circumstances may be available; please contact the midwife for details! This includes in home prenatal, birth, and postpartum care! It also includes the assistant fee and pool rental, which are NOT included in many midwifery practices. A routine vaginal delivery at the hospital without anesthesia costs $5,777 to $12,136. A cesarean delivery costs $7,426 to $16,475. These numbers do not include prenatal or postpartum care. Even if you have insurance, you may save money by choosing midwifery care. How do I know how much to pay? Please see The Green Bottle to help you decide where you might land on the scale according to your family’s individual needs. Think $7000-8000 for the full bottle, $5500-6500 for the middle bottle, and $4500-5500 for the last bottle. The full bottle may be thought of as a pay-it-forward price that supports financial accessibility for those folks lower down on the scale. A Quick Guide to the Sliding Scale The top price is the actual cost of care. If you choose price below the top tier you are receiving a discount. The middle price is for those who are able to meet their basic needs but have little-to-no expendable income. Affording care may qualify as a sacrifice but it would not create hardship. The bottom price is for those who struggle to meet basic needs and affording care would still be a significant hardship. The Pay-It-Forward price is a few bucks above the actual cost of services and that extra money goes towards supporting lower income clients. Essentially it’s an opportunity to not only get your care but also support your fellow community members while you’re at it. Sweet! We believe it truly does take a village to raise a child. Some families in our community have greater financial means, while others make do with less. Please respect the midwife and our community by paying the amount you deem reasonable according to your income and expenses. Flexible payment options are available; please contact the midwife for details. I am happy to chat with you via text/phone/email about any questions or concerns.
